Atelier d’artiste 2
Verneusses, Normandie, France
In the heart of a Norman garden, DODA.A designed an artist’s studio inspired by Le Corbusier’s Modulor proportions.
Compact and rigorously proportioned, the simple volume features a wide glazed façade screened by vertical metal louvers, creating a subtle play between transparency, light, and intimacy.
The use of corten steel—a raw, evolving material—allows the building to engage with its natural surroundings, its patina changing with the seasons.
A green roof reinforces landscape integration while contributing to natural insulation.
At nightfall, the studio glows from within, becoming a welcoming lantern in the garden.
Minimalist yet poetic, this space provides artists with a setting conducive to creation, where architecture serves light and fosters a close relationship with nature.
