Château de Cieurac
Lanzac, Occitanie, France
Overlooking the Dordogne and a vast parkland from atop its stone ramparts, this majestic Renaissance château—reworked in the 19th century—stands as a landmark in the landscape. Its new owners, a team of international hoteliers, have entrusted DODA.A with the task of carefully restoring its historic grandeur while transforming it into a luxury hotel and spa.
The project involves the creation of reception areas, a restaurant, and around a dozen suites within the existing château, taking full advantage of its spacious interiors, rich architectural details, and sweeping views over the valley.
Extending from the château along the old ramparts, a new linear building will house a spa and an additional 26 suites.
This contemporary extension appears to emerge organically from the historic walls, with a façade of raw concrete and wood and a green, planted roof.
This project breathes new life into a remarkable piece of cultural heritage, opening it to the public at the meeting point of the Lot and Dordogne regions.
