Extension of a Norman Longhouse for an Indoor Pool.
For this project, located in the heart of Normandy, DODA.A designed the extension of a traditional farmhouse, blending respect for heritage with contemporary comfort to integrate an indoor pool and spa.

On the exterior, half-timbered and brick façades continue the architectural language of the region. The deliberately fragmented volumes interact around a landscaped garden. Dual-pitched roofs and authentic materials reinforce the building’s rural identity.

At the heart of the project lies a luminous extension dedicated to a relaxation space, connecting the different wings of the property. Expansive glass openings frame views of the surrounding nature while revealing the sunlit indoor pool.

Inside, the palette emphasizes raw, durable materials: exposed brick, solid wood, and visible timber framing structure the space, creating an atmosphere that is both warm and restrained. Reflections of water against the brick walls and beams make the pool the central element of this new living space.

Blending tradition and modernity, the project celebrates Norman architectural heritage while offering a contemporary lifestyle designed for gathering and well-being.
