In Andernos-les-Bains, just a short distance from the Arcachon Bay, a modest 1970s single-story villa sat on a generous pine-
shaded corner lot. With an outdated layout and limited charm, the new owner sought to enhance the plan, add a bedroom, and create an upper floor to better enjoy the garden.
DODA.A completely reimagined the house to meet these goals and lend the property a new identity. The villa was stripped back to its structural core. While its footprint remained intact, a partial second story was added to expand its volume.
On the garden level, the former bedrooms were transformed into an open kitchen flowing onto a spacious terrace with a built-in barbecue. In place of the old veranda, a sleek lap pool extends the living room. A new primary suite, facing south, opens onto a private terrace with a jacuzzi. Upstairs, three additional bedrooms and a bathroom are connected to a 20 m² terrace overlooking the garden.
Clad in timber, the revamped facade blends harmoniously with its natural and urban surroundings. The two garden-facing terraces and upper-level outdoor space improve the connection between indoor living and the landscape beyond.
