Program Renovation of a retirement home
Project owner Private
Status Study Delivered

DODA.A was commissioned to rethink the communal spaces of a Parisian retirement home with a clear objective: to offer residents a warm, legible, and soothing environment, set within an elegant and timeless ambiance.

The project is expressed through subtle work on materials and colors. Mosaic and graphic cement tile floors structure circulation areas and create visual landmarks, while wood paneling grounds the walls with authenticity. Colors vary across spaces—light and bright in reception areas, deeper in dining rooms—enhancing functions and defining atmospheres.

Lighting plays a key role: opaline glass pendants and directional wall lamps create a soft, convivial mood, while emphasizing pathways and gathering areas.

Interior design choices prioritize clarity and comfort: welcoming seating, discreet signage, and thoughtfully placed rest areas. Corridors and lounges are animated with vintage photographs, acting as memory bridges and reinforcing residents’ emotional ties to the place.

Through this intervention, the agency provides the establishment with a renewed identity: a setting both functional and refined, designed for the daily well-being of residents and their visitors.
