In Nogent-sur-Marne, DODA.A designed the complete transformation of a suburban house, imagining an extension and elevation that breathe new life and coherence into the existing structure. The project is based on a contemporary reinterpretation of the façades, where the mix of raw materials – brick and wood – interacts with the existing structure. The ground floor is marked by an exposed brick base, a reinterpretation of traditional masonry, while the raised section is distinguished by deep-coloured vertical wood cladding, which lends unity and elegance to the whole.

Large bay windows and continuous balconies bring light and openness to the garden, radically transforming the relationship between interior and exterior. The new, generous and functional volumes provide additional living space adapted to the needs of a contemporary family.

The project showcases a sober and expressive architecture, capable of enhancing the vernacular heritage while placing it firmly in the modern era.
This extension and elevation illustrates the agency’s approach: rethinking the existing structure, optimising the volumes and offering a new quality of life to the inhabitants.
