In Bernay, along a pedestrian corridor between Avenue Jean de la Varende and Rue des Anciens
Combattants d’Indochine, DODA has designed a multifunctional healthcare facility set within a restructured parcel near a childcare center. The program includes a parking area, a two-level pharmacy, and a three-level medical center, connected via a footbridge spanning the pedestrian walkway.

Architecturally, the design emphasizes simplicity and durability. A concrete base supports timber-
framed upper levels with light-toned cladding. The southern façade features a vegetated double-skin system in stainless steel, blending ecological performance with subtle texture.

Volumes are composed to preserve natural light and integrate seamlessly into the existing urban fabric. Green roofs, photovoltaic panels, and landscaped setbacks enhance environmental performance. Along the Cosnier River, a planted buffer zone supports a future public footpath, with tall poplars reinforcing the site’s relationship to the natural surroundings.

Vehicular access is provided from Rue des Anciens Combattants d’Indochine, while pedestrians are welcomed from a widened, secure walkway. This project embodies a new model of functional, community-oriented healthcare architecture—resilient, legible, and rooted in place.
