Villa E
Eze, Alpes Maritimes, France
Between Nice and Monaco, Èze is a unique hilltop village perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the
Mediterranean. With its churches and medieval alleys, it is one of the most iconic destinations on the French Riviera. This recently built villa sits on the upper part of a steeply sloped plot, offering breathtaking views of the village and coastline, from Nice to Cap d’Ail. The owner has selected DODA.A to rethink the villa’s integration into the landscape, update its interior design, build a guest house, and convert the basement into a home cinema and spa.
The current synthetic composite façade will be replaced with painted plaster in the typical hues of coastal homes in the Alpes-Maritimes. On the south façade—fully open to the Riviera landscape and exposed to sun, wind, and moisture—retractable sunshades are installed to preserve the view while providing protection during extreme heat.
Originally accessible only from the outside and left unfinished, the basement sits level with the outdoor pool. The pool’s glass wall, like a giant aquarium window, filters soft blue light into the space below. Here, DODA.A is creating a home cinema and a relaxation area with sauna and hammam cabins, as well as changing rooms.
The villa’s interior design is being updated to better reflect the new owner’s style. Secondary finishes are upgraded, while the furniture is selected for greater elegance and comfort.
On the opposite side of the cul-de-sac access road, DODA.A is also constructing a small guest house in harmony with the main villa, along with two covered carports on an adjacent parcel.
